Use three useful lines
State what changed, what is blocked and what decision or help you need. Link the work instead of pasting the same background into several channels. “The form is ready; mobile validation is blocked by the test account; Navid needs access by Wednesday” gives the reader a concrete next action.
Keep the thread with the work
Use a task comment for a decision about that task. Use a project channel when several work items need shared context. Mention the person who owns the next step and explain why you need them. Do not rely on a mention alone to communicate a deadline or an expected response.
Agree on a response rhythm
Choose a review window that fits the team’s working hours. Urgent issues need an agreed escalation path, while routine updates should not require an immediate reply. Close the loop by recording the decision and updating the related task. The useful measure is whether people can act from the update without another search.
Your starting checklist
- What changed
- What is blocked and who can help
- A link to the actual work
- A clear next response
